The quilt trail meanders through the back roads and small towns of Putnam County. The trail crosses an area rich with natural scenic beauty and lots of Tennessee history. It will take you into the country side to see quilt patterns on historic barns owned by local farm families and into towns where gorgeous quilt squares are painted on businesses and historic buildings.
The quilt blocks are often replicas of treasured family heirlooms. In painting and displaying those patterns, we are honoring local quilters and preserving the the art and heritge of quilting in Putnam Country.
